I’ll explain later. Feel free to add comments and thoughts and by all means watch them and share what you think, whether you agree or disagree. This Review section will be for Independent Films as well as Feature Films and some Documentaries. In keeping with this experimental Blog site year 3 already (haven’t been here for a while) let’s keep it movin!

Since Last night I watched the film ‘Secret In Their Eyes’ Written and Directed by Bill Ray an inspired adaptation of a Juan Jose Campanella Oscar winning film starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julia Roberts and newcomer Nicole Kidman (I didn’t know she was a newcomer at the time).  The film was a suspense detective drama of a case of a young girl murdered who happened to be one of detectives (Julia Roberts) daughter. Chiwetel and Kidman help to find the killer an Outstanding and superb performance by the 3 Actors.

The plot was obvious maybe even cliche’ but the dramatic elements and the acting undeniable. The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat and as I did you may find yourself talking to the screen asking why did he /she do that?  There were many shocking moments all the way up to the end of the very last scene. Excellent!  Very satisfying as a viewer. Did not like the realness of the story always horrific in reality. As a Movie extremely well done. The Director answered every question the viewer may have had.

The storyline, scenes, especially camera movements were as subtle as the acting. Great ciinematography that’s what actually prompted me to watch a film starring Chiwetel Ejiofor a serious actor with the longest body of work of an actor I have seen. (check it out for yourself). You cannot go wrong with any movie he plays in. I wanted to see a real cinematic film. I got exactly what I was looking for in this and other films and look forward to watching more.

Watch ‘the Secret In Their Eyes’ for yourself and tell me what you think.

Til Next time!
